Marina Mazatlan (Sinaloa, Mexico) was left unfinished and the office/showers are housed in a temporary building near Muelle Ocho (Dock 8).  Outside of the office there's a large blue Pacifico (beer) awning under which most social events are staged such as the regular "Who Cares if it's Friday?" potluck gathering.  The blue awning is iconic for many representing special times in a place they love.   We first tried this dip at an event under the blue awning but weren't able to get the recipe before the cruiser moved on.  Later at Agua Verde in the Sea of Cortez, Carolyn and Steve from Lightheart brought this to another gathering we were finally able to snag the recipe.  It doesn't look appetizing but it's got a wonderful snappy bite that's a bit addictive.

2/3 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)

2 T soy sauce

2 T lemon juice

2 T honey

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 T chili powder

1 T hot sauce (e.g. Tabasco)

Sliced carrots

Sliced celery

Blend all ingredients except carrot and celery sticks, adding a little water if too firm.  Serve with carrots and celery.  May be kept in refrigerator in tightly sealed (e.g. tupperware) container.
