Hello World, with Britt and Axel aboard, is a beautiful new Sunbeam 53 with a home port in Germany.  Britt's baguette's are so good and so authentic that French cruisers have asked for lessons.

750 g wheat flour

3 teaspoons salt

1 pkg dry yeast (30 g)

1/2 liter water

additional flour

1 egg, beaten

Put flour in a large bowl, mix salt and yeast.  Stir in warm water and make a soft dough.  Knead for 10-15 until the dough shows some bubbles.  Let rise in covered bowl for 45 minutes.  The dough should be double in size by then.  Punch down the dough and knead a little.  Divide dough into four parts and knead each part for a while.  Form 40 cm long rolls and place on a greased cookie sheet.  Let rise for another 1/2 hour.  Brush baguettes with beaten egg and cut the surface.  Preheat oven to 220°C (428 F)  and bake baguettes for about 35 minutes.  Put a cup of water into the oven to get a nice crust.  Makes four (4) baguettes.
