Yalobi, Waya, Yasawas, Fiji
Jessica;
Attached is a picture of some of the children of Yalobi (Yah LOAM bee) village
on the island of Waya in the Yasawa Islands of Fiji. This chain of high
volcanic islands stretches for 50 miles; the southern most end is about 45 miles
from Nadi on the "mainland" island of Viti Levu. The second picture is of the
mountain, called Vatunareba, that sits directly above the village; one of the
small white buildings in the photo of the mountain is the village kindergarten.
The pretty girl in the photo with Gnomad is Latileta Nakadrudru and she is
anxious to receive mail from the children in your class. She attends the Ratu
Naivalu Memorial School in Yalobi. She is bright and personable and wishes to
learn about the world outside of her lovely, but modest, traditional village.
Please arrange for a postcard or letter (with photos of Bainbridge or the
Olympic mountains would be wonderful) to be sent to her at the following
address:

In a couple of weeks we'll be off to New Caledonia and then Vanuatu.
